Wanted to watch my daughter run the half at Okc Memorial on Sunday so I went up to Tulsa to run athe Golden Driller Marathon for a long run. It was around 61 at the start and in the 70s before the finish. About 90 runners in the marathon and a hand full of 2 person relay teams + a half marathon which all started together. After a couple of hours the heat got to us all. I was stopping at the aid stations and drinking 2 glasses and slowed from 7:40 pace to 8 minute pace for last 7. The pursuers must of fell off more than that as they were only 1-2 minutes back at the last turn around about mile 16. A Sands Springs track coach did catch me but he was pushing a stroller with a kid that had cerebral palsy but the inclines and heat got to them and I went back around them around mile 18. I really liked running the course even with the hills at Turkey mtn. It seemed like an easy fast course other than the heat factor.
